Moving On?

Here’s another diary entry of the ordinary girl. Lets read it together..

Dear Diary,
Today was a different day, a philosophical one, i might say. In the middle of a boring lecture, we were told the classes were suspended and we were told to attend the guest lecture. We were expecting it to be some educational type of lecture but were proved wrong.
As soon as we all were seated, a question was thrown at us suddenly!
“Have you moved on yet?
And the deafening silence followed. No one spoke a word. It was as if those words have sent everyone into trance.
The lecturer then himself broke the silence.
“The silence and your face clearly says that everyone has atleast on thing on their mind that they haven’t yet let go off even if they say to have moved on! Otherwise that one thought wouldn’t have back or made you revisit that scenario.”
We all smiled at this.
The lecturer continued, “For all of us, so far in life, there’s is atleast one thing that we can’t ever forget. It might sound silly to others but it’s close to our heart and stays there forever.”
So true the words were, I wondered.
“Moving on isn’t always from a broken relationship but also from broken promises, unforgettable failures, broken dreams, grudges, hurtful words and the list May not end. Its different and difficult for each one of us. To let go means ti forgive and move on and the reappearance of that thought shouldn’t take you to the world that once you belonged to. You must be able to just smile and shrug off that thought because everything that happened, happened for a reason.”
And I realized, how true it was. Life has given us so many beautiful things to hold on to yet we don’t let go of the things that hurt us.

All those things that hurt,
Just let them go.
Smile and move on,
Because past doesn’t help us to glow!

Ordinary Girl.

Have you learnt to let go of the things that hurt? Have you moved on?

You may read the other pages of diary here! The thoughts shared aren’t from the personal diary of the writer. They are based on observation and input from friends and personal experiences.

  1. true nibhz.. moving on from something that hurt is important too.. a brilliant definition of moving on.. loved this one 🙂

  2. The art of moving on is difficult to learn… But once we start the flow, our lives become so much peaceful 🙂

  3. Thankyou for sharing this. It is so important for each one of us to take these words seriously and let go. But it’s easier said than done, right? We must, atleast, try.

  4. I think to move on one needs to forgive and forget, a relationship that was prematurely ended without a proper closure still remains to linger around in the mind.

  5. It is easier said than done but it has to be done. No pain no gain, as long as we hold on to the hurts from the past, we cannot enjoy the present and the future. Lovely post, yet again.

  6. Moving on has become very easy for me as many ppl walked out of my life in the past 23 years!

  7. Really beautiful thoughts of ‘LIFE’ if we learn as much possible earlier to ‘MOVE ON’ without
having any stagnancy we will be very happy in our life and positivity will pave the way so great
that one will realise only after having adopted it……..your good thoughts really again
