The Liebster Rain

Well, this one was long due!

Soon after when my finals got over and  I was busy celebrating the end of finals and the April Challenge, my fellow bloggers gave me all the more reasons to celebrate. And before I could boast about one, it was tripled by the end of the week! It’s like raining love on my blog. But I’m guilty of basking in the glory of Liebster Awards without showing the gratitude due to the nominators and pass on the love to others. Finally, I sit and do the needful. Forgive me for the delay. 🙂

For those wondering what a Liebster Award is: it was generated in Germany(probably) and is a beautiful way of recognizing lesser known blogs. Liebster means “sweetest, kindest, cutest, nicest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, valued” etc. It comes with certain rules, and here are these:

So the rules are:

1. Link back and thank the blogger who nominated you in your post.
2 List 11 facts about yourself.
3. Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
4. Pick 5 – 10 new bloggers (must have less than 300 followers) to nominate.
5. Ask them 11 new questions. Do not re-nominate the blogger who nominated you.
6. Go to each blogger’s site and inform them of their nomination.

Thank you so much Swathi! I found her as a fellow blogger in the A-Z challenge and soon became my closest buddy. Things were always in sync for us, they has to be! Its like being sisters, nagging each other daily to write something! 😛

Here are my answers to Swathi:

1. What is your favorite pastime, apart from reading novels?

Asking a blogger her favorite passtime!! It has to be writing! 😛 creating worlds everytime words flow out of the pen!

2. If given a chance to go back and change one thing from your past, what it would be?

One thing may be, a decision that had gone wrong but surely made me who I’m today.

3. Which is the first word that comes to your mind when asked to describe yourself?

One word description of self! That’s hard!
Versatile, may be. (a friend of mine quoted this)

4. What got you into blogging?

An urge to share my world with rest of the world.

5. Which is that one thing that can change your foul mood and make you smile within an instant?

I would have chocolate but a call from BFF tops the list undoubtedly.

6. Which in the memory/incident that you treasure the most?

Hard to pick one out of my treasure box but since its a question on blogosphere I will pick out the one related to writing.
I was elated when my science fiction story was selected in the Science Fiction competition as the best entry all over India. It was published in “Science Reporter” magazine of NISCAIR when i was 17.

7. Ten years later from now, where do you see yourself?

To be frank, I would love to see myself as a published author and a little closer to the dreams i have in my heart.

8. If given a chance to be invisible for a day, what will you do?

I would silently help the people who would need any help. And on the lighter note, I would hear what people wishper about me behind my back (everyone is curious about that and I’m no different )

9. Was there any major <span id="xl2jdtung point  in your life that made you who you are today? If so, then what is it?

Yes, there was! It was a failure that I faced and that made me a bit more philosophical in life and taught me life isn’t always the way we want it to be.

10. What do you think is the key to any successful relationship?

Trust, understanding and equal participation from both sides are the most important ingredient for brewing any successful relationship.

11. According to you, what is the definition of a good novel?

A good novel depends upon the genre it belongs to. But at random any book should be able to keep the reader glued to itself and reader couldn’t stop the page turning rather than putting it down at any point of time.

Next nomination is from Vishal. I got to meet him through the Write Tirbe Community. His blog is a candid one offering opinion on various topics of  his interest from our daily lives. Thank you so much for this award!

My Answers to Vishal:

1. Why do you blog or write?
Because if I don’t I would be die suffocating.

Apart from the challenges we all face daily in life, my life has always been a smooth ride.. (Yah, I can’t think of any challenge for now).

3. A book or movie that changed your thinking or inspired you?
The secret (book). Pursuit of happiness(Movie).

4. What do you think? Unhappy couples should break apart or stay for the sake of children in a marriage.
Whether they break apart or not, an unhappy marriage affect the children.so, I think they should separate only if they cant live together because if they aren’t happy then they surely cant give their children a happy present or future for that matter.

5. What success mean to you?
To me success means when i can peacefully sleep without any regrets.

6. Three things you cannot live without
As asked “things” so I am eliminating all the basic necessities that are needed to survive; and “living” means enjoying life not only existing. So I cannot live without my cellphone(no doubt about that), Internet and a camera(my recent obsession)

7. One person you want to meet in your life time?
I would love to meet J.K. Rowling and would love to learn to weave magic with the words!

8. What do you know about God? Do you think there is God? If not, what is the logical reason for being an atheist?
I might not know anything about god but i certainly know there is some power for sure that created the universe.

Answered already.

10. What is your dream holiday destination?
Hill top with the perfect view of the city as I wake up to beautiful sunrise every morning.

Answered already.

Purses or shoes – which do you like better?
Shoes definitely, this is the latest bug that caught me.

Which of your childhood memory is the prettiest one, please brief.
I remember the day I finally rode the bicycle all by myself, it was such a great feeling! It was trying to ride it for so long only to fail again and again!

Which incident has touched you most in your life?
I used to have a weekly visit to the government school (Part of the NGO soceity that I had joined in PG first year) to teach something that their teachers won’t, something that can benefit them throughout the life. During one such visit when I was teaching the class 4 students how to introduce themselves in English, I noticed one of the regular students weren’t there. I noticed this for several weeks in a row. It couldn’t just be a co-incidence that the same student was absent every Saturday. I asked among the students of the class then I came to know that she has stopped coming to school for a month now. I talked about it to the teachers of the school. They told me, the parents usually don’t send their girls to school, they (teachers) have to convince the parents to let their daughters study. Only few parents agree but the girls usually drop out of the school in a month’s time. Though I knew that parents don’t send their girls to school in lower strata of society, the fact still shocked me. This incident indeed touched me making me realize how lucky I am to complete my studies according to my wishes.

Well these questions revealed a lot about me so I don’t need another 11 facts to describe myself and torture you further with the already increasing length of the post!
