She Wished She Knew

Dress in red as a New bride,
Parents beamed with unbound pride.

Giving their daughter a million tips,
Her name never left their lips.

Tying the unbreakable knot of marriage,
She went away in a beautiful carriage.

Happiness and sadness flowing with tears,
Uncertainty seeping in with the fears.

Few days into New life gone by,
Her dreams are still on stand by.

Everything she has left behind,
To create a world of his kind.

All the dreams that she cherished,
In oblivion now they perished.

Helplessly living her life anyhow,
She wished she knew then what she knew now!

  1. Gosh! Crushed dreams and battered hopes… a sad reality for so many brides!
A wonderful expression for the prompt, Nibha! 🙂

  2. The misery of crushed dreams can weigh heavily on a young girl. Sadly, something many girls go through. Beautiful take on the prompt, Nibha.

  3. That is so sad everyone should have right to live their dreams and I believe she should take a stand for herself and not just live by others’ dreams…
