“Yeah! Show me this ring and also that one!” chirped Riya to the salesman.
He obediently picked out the two rings for her and a bright smile adorned her face as the solitaire glittered on her hands.
“Which one looks better?” she turned to asked her friend who was accompanying her on her shopping spree.
“I think this one, it has elegance and class! The other one is just too mainstream”, her friend gave her opinion but her words were lost as Riya’s eyes focused on something else now. The solitaire has suddenly lost charm and saying Diamonds are girl’s best friend lost its meaning.
“Where you got lost?” he friend tried to follow Riya’s gaze and stopped at the elderly couple seated next to them.
“Umm.. nothing”, she said taking off the rings from her fingers, ” Please show me those gold cufflinks”, she politely requested the salesman. This intrigued both the salesman and her friend. While the salesman obliged to his customer, her friend had her questions ready.
A few minutes later, he came back with a tray full of cufflinks of various designs. She picked up each and analyzed each design carefully. Few more minutes passed but she couldn’t decide on one of them.
“Anything particular design you are looking for, ma’am?” asked the salesman.
“Umm.. no.. actually yes.. He had a pair of cufflinks sometime back. I wanted the same design now”, she said thoughtfully.
“If you can remember the design we can create them on order perhaps”, he suggested.
Riya nodded, picking up the last cufflink from the tray.
“Whom are you looking it for, if may I know, I would be able to help you better. A special friend? Fiance?” He poked further.
“Oh no! I want this for my father. He had a pair long time but lost it I suppose”, she said smiling.
“If you could wait another minute ma’am, I think I have what you want”, and the salesman disappeared.
He came back with the Special vintage collection of Cufflinks and put it in front of her. She eyes shone instantly as she spotted the one she was looking for.
