Bliss #AtoZChallenge

The door creaked a little as she managed to sneak out of the room leaving her roommate in her deep hangover induced slumber. With a little sling-bag on the shoulder, flip-flops in one hand and a book in other she made her way towards the elevator. She paced impatiently while waiting for the elevator. Taking longer time than usual, it finally arrived as the doors slid open. She let herself in.
The journey to the ground floor took forever, as it seemed to stop at every floor on the way. It only made her miserable as her eyes kept glued to her flip-flops which she had quickly worn after entering the elevator. She avoided looking at anyone who entered or exited until the elevator announced the Ground Level.
Grr, who take the room at the topmost floor! Took me ages to escape, she thought as she walked out of the foyer and out towards the back gate of the hotel where she was staying with her friends for the past two days. The waiter from the last night party had told her the best and the quickest route to the getaway beach in the vicinity. Just the description was enough to lure her for this expedition.
Her sling-bag dangling by her side as she moved swiftly clutching her novel closed to her heart. Her eyes glistened as the shore line came into view, the sand shone brilliantly under the fading light of the sunset. She grabbed herself a place near one of the coconut trees. With the book now in her lap, she closed her eyes to the music of the waves kissing the shore and felt, who says happiness, can be found only while partying till the wee hours… This is what I will call bliss anytime and every time!

Happiness is more than just a word. As we grow old we often forget to take notice of little moments of joy and feel bliss out of random things. Here’s an attempt to find something hidden in the little corners of heart… 💕
Let’s make this world a happier place, with one story at a time!

  1. Not entirely my idea of bliss …. reading on the beach but that’s perhaps because I’m too old to be sitting on the sand and having the wisps of hair flying in my face…. But well written no doubt.

  2. Totally! Take me to a beach any day, let the waves kiss my feet and I have attained nirvana!!! Beautiful take! Good luck for the rest of the challenge!
