Stranger Than Fiction #BarAThon

The metro stopped at her station. She reluctantly got up and walked out of it, her eyes never leaving the sight of the words in her book she clutched so dearly. With alternating glance between the path and the book, she kept on reading one sentence at a time and walking two steps at a time.
Bang!!
The collision was fatal to her. She was snatched out of her book and forced to be in reality.
“Umm.. I’m so sorry..” Were the only words she could manage to utter. The person picked up the book and gave it to her before walking away.
It would have been so different had it been... Her inner voice started to speak.
Oh shut up, you hopeless romantic! These things don’t happen in reality, she said to herself and her inner voice went silent. Her hopelessly romantic personality would have been dancing had the person been some tall, dark and handsome. While the person was surely tall and dark but wasn’t handsome. Quite much because the person was a she, not he.

She reluctantly pushed away her book as she entered the office building. She couldn’t concentrate much on her work. Da Vinci Code kept on enticing her peeking out from her handbag. She gave into the temptation every time there was a break between meetings, hoping to solve the mystery. But she found herself no where close it as she turned the page 234. There were clues spread all over the book but she was unable to join it. May be because I’m neither Dan nor Robert, just like she wasn’t Elizabeth to be swept off by Darcy! she sighed and went back to her work.To her, reality was indeed stranger than fiction

“Dear, Dinner?”, her words were almost a whisper but he heard her.
” No, I had it in my office already”, he said pausing for a moment on the fourth step before marching forward towards his room. Few seconds later, she heard him banging his door shut.
“I think I should take the dinner to his room”, she said, muttering aloud to herself.
“But you heard him, he already had his dinner. And you also eat now”, he said after quietly observing the past scene which has quite become a routine since now…
” No! I’m his mother! I know Avinash hasn’t eaten a single thing since morning!”, she told her husband politely but firmly before following her son upstairs with the plate of food in her hands.
