A Healthy Childhood Is A Healthy Forever!

A few days back when Diwali was being awaited, I came back from hostel to enjoy the vacations and join in the festivities of the most important festival of Hindus. But this festival not only brings joy and happiness but also a sudden drift in the season. It’s not as if only I have felt, you must have observed it too, that it’s quite normal for people to catch common cough and cold during this particular time of the year. Moreover, if a child in the family falls sick, hell breaks loose and the gone are festivities. And to a mother, child is a child irrespective of the age. This became the sole reason why mom was after me with spoon in one hand and a Dabur Chyawanprash in other. I obliged her request instantly knowing its benefits. But my sister wasn’t so easy to be convinced. And as in every other household I being the elder one was given the resposiblity to tell the her whole story and convince her otherwise.
So getting on my duty, I sat near here when she was visibly pissed off due to conitnous pestering of my mom over a spoon of Chyawanprash. Such a little topic of dispute! I laughed to myself.
“Hey Sis”
“Hmmm”, it was the only reply I got. She didn’t even look up from her the game she was playing on her mobile.
“You know that the children are always the centre of all care and love in any house?”
“I know”
“And you also know children especially have low immunity power and when the bacteria/virus attacks their body is comparitvely incapable of fighting them and hence they fall sick easily.”
“Yeah!” She frowned, knowing where the conversation was headed.
“So you obviously don’t want to fall sick and make everyone around sad during this festive season or any other season for that matter? You won’t be able to enjoy this festival and neither will anybody else. And you know it that a childhood is the base for your future.”
“Ofcourse I don’t want that. I want everyone to be happy and enjoy the festival.”
“So do as mom says and take the regular dose of Chyawanprayash, will you?”
“Umm… ok.” wow, mission accomplished so easily, I thought to myself.
“But Di?”
“Yes sweety?” I was about to get up to leave, but there was more to come.
“How can just a spoon or two of it can save me from getting sick? I just don’t get that.”
I smiled as I remembered myself asking the same question to mom years ago. She had o told me when there was no Dabur, Chyawanprash was wholly made at home but took a lot of time and labour. Then Dabur came and stayed here like forever, helping everyone to fight illness and giving strength.
“Because Dabur has the age-old tested formula which includes best anti-oxidants that helps to strengthen your body’s internal defence mechanism – the immune system – thereby protecting you from day to day infections such as cough, cold etc.”
I took the mobile from her hands and typed https://www.liveveda.com/daburchyawanprash/
“Here, have a look yourself.”
She took five minutes to go through the site and after that looked pretty convinced on the matter. I surely felt victorious inside. 😛
And she was, as she got up and grabbed the spoon from the table. Meanwhile, mom smiled at me from the kitchen window.

Indeed a child’s health is a mom’s smile and a healthy childhood is healthy forever!!
